EasyTeriyaki Chicken

Teriyaki Chicken is very simple easy to make recipe. You just need to get the right ingredients.  Mirin, Cooking Sake, Soy sauce are the most basic ingredients making Japanese food, it is used all the time.  Mirin and Cooking Sake might not be in your cabinet, but it is worth buying if you want to cook Japanese cuisine.   You can find it at a asian grocery store, Amazon(is pricy), or online grocery store http://www.marukaiestore.com      This website has really cheap Cooking Sake and Mirin, although shipping is a bit expensive but it might be worth it if you want to buy a lot of Japanese groceries. 




6-8 Servings

Prep time: 15 min
Cook time: 20 min

Ingredients

8 (2lb) Boneless chicken thigh
2 table spoon oil

Pre marination 
1 tea spoon Salt
3 table spoon Cooking Sake

Teriyaki sauce
3 table spoon Sugar
3 table spoon Cooking Sake
6 table spoon Soy sauce
6 table spoon Mirin
 From left: Mirin, Cooking Sake, Soy Sauce, Salt and Sugar
  1. Wash Chicken and add few slices without cutting through it.
  2. In a bowl mix Pre Marination and chicken, leave it for 10 min. This will help to take out the chicken smell and also helps chicken to absorb Teriyaki sauce.

  3. Mix the Teriyaki sauce ingredients in a bawl
  4. Heat the oil over high in a large pan and put the meat up side down and grill for 5-10 min till surface color changes golden brown.

  5. Flip over the chicken and add in the Teriyaki sauce and cook over medium heat for about 10-15 min.

    Teriyaki Chicken goes really well with rice.

After you freeze it in a small portion, all you need to do is microwave it before packing for lunch. Even after freezing it is still juicy and tasty!!

Kidney beans with Bacon and Corn

This is a super easy dish to make.  Kids might not like Kidney beans but strong taste and flavor of bacon and sweetness of corn makes it very tasty for anyone.
Also, Kidney beans is the one of the best vegetable to freeze, you can freeze this and pack it for lunch.
Kidney beans with Bacon and Corn


For 8 servings
Cook time: 15 Min

Ingredients

3/4 lb fresh Kidney beans
4 slice Bacon
8.5 oz can Corn
Salt to taste



  1. Heat a large pan with water and salt till it comes to a boiling point, boil the Kidney beans about a minute or two. 
  2. Drain the water in the pan and cut the beans in to a inch long. 
  3. In a large fry pan cook bacon over medium heat and drain the oil.
    Bacon cut into half an inch
  4. When the bacon is cooked add Corn and cook for few min.

  5. Add Kidney beans and salt to taste. 


For Obento:   Freeze it in a small portion and microwave it for 30 sec before packing for lunch.
